How can I set up VM so that it can be used as a "real" system within the network?
I have the issue that I need to set up a VM with SUSE 9.x. I have a static IP which I can use for the VM so that it can "talk" to my network; so that it can be used as a "real" system within the network. The question what do I need to do? I have allready set the IP within the YAST.

When trying to install Windows Vista as a guest OS in a VMware virtual machine, using iso as a source, I am always getting the following error:

VM cannot ping the host
VMware Workstation 5.5 is installed on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2. NAT networking is used for the virtual machine – Red Hat Linux guest. I can ping the VM from the host but cannot ping the host from my Linux guest.
