When trying to install Windows Vista as a guest OS in a VMware virtual machine, using iso as a source, I am always getting the following error:

When trying to install Windows Vista as a guest OS in a VMware virtual machine, using iso as a source, I am always getting the following error:

“Load Driver: A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: If the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step.”

 

Answer: To solve the problem, you can use a physical CD. In case you are using VMware server and don’t have a DVD, this can be a problem. However, you can use other tools to mount iso as physical drives. The example is .
