Release of VMware Workstation 5.5.3

VMware has released a new version of VMware Workstation. The next version planned to the beginning of the year 2007 will probably support Windows Vista.

New features of version 5.5.3:

Added Support for the following host OS:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0, Update 4 (AS, ES, WS), 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0, Update 8 (AS, ES, WS), 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Experimental support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0, 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Mandriva Corporate Server 4, 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Experimental support for Mandriva Linux 2007, 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Experimental support for Ubuntu Linux 6.10, 32-bit and 64-bit

Added Support for the following guest OS:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0, Update 4 (AS, ES, WS), 32-bit and 64-bit
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0, Update 8 (AS, ES, WS), 32-bit and 64-bit
