Ingres Releases its Icebreaker

Date: February 28, 2007

Ingres Icebreaker is the first fully integrated enterprise-class database and operating system to facilitate system maintenance and support. It is the integration of Ingres 2006 and Linux OS components to support the Ingres platform.

IceBreaker is an innovative product that provides users with a single environment where it becomes easy to support an OS.

"Ingres Icebreaker will revolutionize the industry," said Terry Suby, president of AcuStaf Software. "Database services such as business intelligence software should be very simple to build and deploy, but because of the way most software is sold today, we are often faced with the enormous burden of installing, maintaining, securing and administering multiple layers of software ourselves. As an Ingres Icebreaker beta participant, we are 100 percent committed to Ingres and very interested in implementing Icebreaker with our labor management solution because it eliminates unnecessary installation and maintenance work, allowing our IT team to focus on innovating at greater speeds and at lower costs."
