VMware Announces the General Availability of a Major VMware Infrastructure 3 Update

New Release Available Today Provides Increased Automation, Greater Levels of Availability and Enhanced Performance for Mission Critical Workloads.

VMware, Inc. (www.vmware.com), the virtualization software leader, today announced that the latest version of VMware Infrastructure 3, including VMware ESX Server 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5, is generally available. The release provides new capabilities for increased levels of automation, improved overall infrastructure availability and higher performance for mission critical workloads.

VMware ESX Server 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5 provides such new features as: Virtualization platform enhancements; VMware Storage VMotion; VMware Update Manager and other. Numerous performance optimizations in 3.5 such as support for paravirtualized Linux and large memory pages help bring significant performance gains to many common workloads such as Java applications and Oracle databases.
