Sun releases xVM

Sun Microsystems, Inc. (www.sun.com) recently released xVM platform, a virtualization and management tool suite. Sun xVM is a family of technologies that addresses both desktop and server virtualization. It leverages work from open source communities like Xen and is being built on proven Sun technology.

The products in the Sun xVM family will include:
Sun xVM Server: A cross-platform, high efficiency, open source hypervisor capable of hosting multiple operating systems.
Sun xVM Ops Center: A complete, highly scalable datacenter automation tool that will simplify discovery, provisioning, updates and management of physical and virtualized assets in cross-platform Linux and Solaris OS-based x86 and SPARC environments.
